How to use AI to create an online course?

AI speeds up the draft. It does not replace the fact that you stood with the client. Use it for structure, check every fact.

ChatGPT will not record your voice and will not take responsibility for bad advice in a medical or legal niche. For creating an online course it works as an intern: fast, confident, to be checked.

Below: where it speeds up the work and where it should stand aside. Publishing and sales still happen on your site — in madebyu you assemble the course and checkout, you do not “generate a platform.”

Research

Collect client questions, consult threads, objections. A model can sort themes. It cannot know what actually works for you. Paste your notes, not “write a course about pilates.”

Ask for a list of gaps: what people fear before buying, what they do not understand in module 1. Then strike hallucinations. AI research without your sources is a summary of the internet, not your course.

Curriculum and modules

Ask it to break the result into stages. Drop lessons you cannot teach. Course structure from the result stays yours.

A good prompt: you paste the promise, duration, level, format (video / PDF / assignment) and ask for 6–10 modules with one assignment per module. A bad prompt: “make me a complete course.” You will get a generality that sounds like ten other pages.

Lesson outlines and scripts

A draft of 8–12 points per lesson, then you speak in your own voice. Reading an AI script off a teleprompter is audible. Keep anecdotes and mistakes you know from the room.

If you teach with your hands — pilates, makeup, a camera — the script is a shot list, not text to read. A model can suggest order, not the frame.

Quizzes, summaries, worksheets

A first version of questions and checklists — yes. Then cut ambiguities and questions the lesson never answered. In madebyu lesson materials are files you upload; a generator does not publish them for you.

Landing and emails

A draft hero and sequence. Then cut clichés. The sales page should sound like you. Layout: a page for selling courses.

Emails: promise, program, objection, start. Models love “incredibly important” and empty CTAs. Cut that. madebyu is not your ESP — you keep the sequence where you already write to people.

When you lack a topic

A model will toss you leads. The filter is your calendar and inbox. A concrete list: online course ideas.

What AI should not replace

  • Expertise — a license, practice, responsibility.
  • Experience — stories from your work, not from a text corpus.
  • Facts — numbers, protocols, law, health: verify with a source.
  • Point of view — the only reason someone buys from you, not from a free chat.

You still record. How to record a course at home.
