madebyu — one platform for courses, programs, and memberships
Your own site, a course or membership, payments, and access after purchase — without stitching five tools and without code.

madebyu is a platform for creating and selling online courses, programs, trainings, and memberships on your own website. It is not a marketplace. It is not a corporate LMS. It is the place where you assemble the offer, take payment, and give the student lessons under your brand.
This piece is about what that means in practice: who it is for, what is actually in the product, and what we deliberately do not promise. If you want a frame for “how to pick a tool,” there is a separate guide: online course platform — how to choose.
What is madebyu?
A knowledge business usually splits into a site, a player, a checkout, and manual access. madebyu folds those pieces into one project: website, product catalog, checkout, and a post-purchase dashboard.
- —Offer page — hero, program, price, FAQ, publish.
- —Products — one-time course, program, membership, live event.
- —Payments — Stripe Connect, money to the creator’s account.
- —Access — after payment the student sees lessons and logs in via an email link.
Digital files (PDFs, checklists, templates) attach to lessons. That is not a separate “ebook shop.” A webinar or a dated retreat is an event product, not a streaming app taped on the side.
Who one platform is for
For people who already teach, or who will soon sell what they keep repeating to clients. Trainers, studios, teachers, experts, photographers, coaches, small brands with a program — as long as they want their own site, not a shelf in someone else’s catalog.
Students get a dashboard: programs, lesson order, progress. Not a drive folder and not a Vimeo password in email. If your core is a corporate LMS (roles, SSO, SCORM, exam tests) — that is a different class of tool. madebyu does not pretend to be one.
What is actually in the product
Your own site, no code
You assemble the site from sections. A template is a starting point. Theme, type, logo, block order. Your own domain or a platform subdomain. The sales page and lessons stay under one brand. Offer layout: how to build a course sales page.
Course, program, membership, live
A one-time course with a result. A program with weeks. A membership with a subscription. An event with a date. Those are separate catalog products, not one “everything at once” switch. Model: online course vs membership.
Video and files in the lesson
A lesson has a player and materials beside it. A public link is not a course. Video hosting is part of the platform — not the only lock on YouTube.
Payments
The student pays on your site. Stripe Connect sends payouts to your account. The madebyu subscription (the site) is separate. Current plans and lesson-minute limits are on the pricing page.
Student dashboard
After purchase: an account from an email link, a program list, lessons, progress. Optionally a certificate on completion — you turn that on per product if you want. There is no built-in exam test or forum (the product has a community placeholder). You build the customer relationship with your list, classes, and what you publish — not a promise of a “community app.”
Analytics
A basic view of the project: watching, campaigns. Not a full BI suite and not three dashboards from three tools.

How to start
You create a project, assemble the site, add a product and a price, connect Stripe, and publish. The first product path: how to create an online course from scratch. Examples — fitness, pilates, photography — on the use cases page.
What madebyu is not
- —A marketplace — we do not sell your course in someone else’s catalog.
- —A corporate LMS — no SSO, SCORM, or exam tests.
- —A traffic agency — the site and sales are here; the list and content are yours.
- —An ESP — we do not replace email sequences.
FAQ
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You assemble the site from sections. You add a course, membership, or event as a product with a price.
Where does course money go?
To your Stripe Connect account. The madebyu site subscription is a separate fee — details on pricing.
Can I run live classes?
Yes, as an event product next to on-demand courses and membership. That does not replace a broadcast studio if you need a television stage.
How long is the trial?
7 days on the first site, no card. Then you pick a plan. Create an account: start creating.
